I didn't get the house
Oh well I guess I will have to try to find more room in my little house. I will probably at least get a storage building and or a gypsy wagon in my back yard.Just before I found out, I ran by the house during my lunch hour. Every time I saw it I was more sure that it was the house for me. This is not a good time economically and so I probably shouldn't have been thinking about moving, but I wanted more room.

It's okay, but it does mean that you will have to stay at a hotel when you come to visit ;-)
Yes I read yesterday the economy's not doing well and a recession is likely. My personal economy has been in recession for a long time so I guess this means I'll have more company now. I welcome them. Maybe I will meet more people now. Maybe people will have their cars repossessed and will have to walk places instead. That way they will no longer be isolated and sealed off from all other humans when they go places. They will have to actually walk in the open, where meeting others and talking to them is possible. Maybe people will come out of their houses more often in their efforts to make ends meet. When they make enough money people become reclusive. They only go out again and talk to people who are not also rich, when they are no longer rich and cannot fence out the riffraff anymore.
Sorry the house didn't work out for you, but it's probably for the best. Something else was meant to happen instead.

NF - thanks, yes it would be nice if we all walked more places. I live close enough to work that I could, if I had to walk there, but here in Texas were mostly not set up for walking. I would have to cross a major road and there is no sidewalk.
I know what you mean. I used to live in an area where on many roads there was no shoulder, and there was somewhat heavy traffic. I used to ride my bike to work.
Thinking back now, I had to be a little crazy to ride my bike on some of those roads with no helmet. Bikes are allowed there, but drivers don't expect them, and they see them as an odd annoyance. Assuming they notice them at all, that is.
If I get a new bike, taking it to work on some days would be good exercise. It's less dangerous for bikes here. I guess it'd take an hour each way, but it would be worth it.
I should look for a house next to a bike trail, but then it's been a while since I rode a bike.
