My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Okay I didn't quite make it

I have been doing good on my diet and I've lost 8lbs since late Monday, but today was rather stressful at work.

Anyway I'm just going to keep watching my weight. I'm still on target to reach my goal. I have an excel spreadsheet with my goal for each day on it and so far so good.

I guess that tomorrow the scale will tell me how much that little detour off my diet cost me.

I'm doing good

I have this image of the diet scale following me around and checking up on me, but I haven't cheated on my diet and I can tell it.

They had birthday cake at work yesterday and I didn't even participate. Last time I would go ahead and get a piece and bring it home and freeze it until my diet was over. This time I didn't even do that.

lemons for breakfas

Okay so I'm having fresh lemonaid for breakfast and this morning I got up and when I got out my bag of lemons - guess what was in the bag.

go ahead guess...

It was my car keys. Good thing I didn't have icecream for breakfast. Beside I have to face the evil scales when I get to work. By the way they were a little nicer to me yesteday.

Gotta run.

They say scales don't lie

I had one tell me something yesterday that I did not want to believe. I'm going to be trying to eat less and better stuff for a while and see if things change.

I will let you know. Things are going pretty well so far today, but it's not 8:00 yet.

No more ice cream for breakfast and vending machine stuff. I know you have heard this before, but this time I mean it.

Need to watch where I'm going

I actually got some healty stuff to eat, lemons, oranges and tomato soup. Then as I was coming around my car looking at something I bought,

I can't remember what.

I fell in the driveway and my stuff went here and there.

Lucky for me I didn't buy a lot. Before you laugh too hard, that's not a jug of milk flying in the air - it's just a plastic bag that the stuff was in.

Oh and since you ask I'm just fine ;-) I didn't get hurt.

I need to mind my own business

but I have been looking at house plans. I'm going to have to start thinking more about what I'm going to do with cleaning and organization my own home.

I wonder why what other people are doing is so much more interesting than what I'm doing. I guess I just have to make what I'm doing more interesting.

I'm going to have to look for a way to keep a stray cat away from my back door, because The Cat doesn't like it one bit when they come by to say "Hi" to him.

Church and a Party today

I'm going to a friends house after Church because she is having a party and we are also going to plan another friends wedding shower ;-)

Then I just HAVE to mow my yard and other less fun stuff, like check to see if I have paid all my bills and I think my car needs a tag or sticker. I have to get my act together at my house. ;-(

I spent a little too much money this month. I guess I better start paying attention to what I'm doing. No more little trips for me this month.

I have been more places in the last few months that I usually go in a few years. Still I need to be a little more responsible.

Busy Day

I have a lot of work to do today, so I don't have much time to be drawing cartoons and writing funny stuff. I got up really early so I can get to work early.

Well I better get to it.

I think this will help

I am thinking of buying a really good paper shredder. Maybe after work today. I have too much paper that I need to throw away and haven't because you don't want to put personal information out in the trash these days.

I'm going to give a bridal shower for one of my friends, maybe I can use my old paper for confetti. I could toss in a couple of bright colored papers and there you go.

I went to water aerobics again

One of the things she had us do was tie one of those noodles in a knot and then put our foot in it and lift it up and down in the water. She was rougher than the last one. It was really a work out. I feel really good now, except for one shoulder which hurts. We had to push the noodle down in the water and back up slowly working our arm and shoulder mussels.

The Other Girl

Okay here is a picture by the older younger relative. It isn't susposed to be any one of us. I like the way the feet and legs look like music notes.

The Weekend

This cartoon was drawn by the one on the far right. We didn't really have flowers and hearts with us, but that's how we felt ;-) In the picture you have from left to right. Me (Moggy) The Girl, The younger relative and the youngest younger relative. At least the youngest one who went with us.

The Weekend

Once again I will be away for the weekend. I'm going to go an pick up some of my younger relatives and take them for a ride. Were going to try to find something fun to do and then I'm going to come back Sunday.

I will let you know how it goes. Were taking finger nail polish and games and that sort of stuff.

Water Aerobics

I went to water aerobics today. I have been wanting to go for a while. The water felt really cold to get into, but I actually enjoyed it after I got in. I think the first 30 minutes was the hardest. Some of it's really fun. They have music and it's like dancing underwater.

By the way, instead of Moggy, I'm using Soggy for my water aerobics name ;-)

Putting things into perspective

This is another sketch I did to put the Tree climing picture into perspective. The only neighbor is down a hill and then back up another hill. That is not an easy thing to draw.

Bet you thought I was going to have some words of wisdom here, but sorry.....right now I've got nothing.

Sketches from the weekend

My friend plans to build a house and so we put a ladder in a tree and climbed up to see what the view might be like if you were on the second floor ;-)

The Cat is Happy I'm home

We made a toy out of a bag ;-)

I'm back from camping

The flower in the picture is about the right size, but I drew myself much smaller than actual size ;-)

I had a great time. I didn't see any wild hogs, but I did hear them. I also saw a really cute deer with the spots still on him when I first got there.

I climbed up a ladder into a tree so that I could see a long ways away. I talk about climbing trees, but I don't usually really climb up that high. It was fun. I did a drawing of it, which I will upload when I get a chance.

And Now in Color

The sand really was white.

You could see a little airplane go by every now and then advertizing places to eat and shops. Also people parasailing behind little boats. There were a couple of ladies reading under a bright umbrella and some people out in the water. I can't remember why I drew the little things that look like rocks in the water. Maybe I was tying to make it look like dolphin fins.

Okay this last picture didn't look all that great in color, but I put some on it anyway.

Sketchs from my vacation

Since I couldn't take my computer I just did a few sketches on paper. It has taken me a while to scan them so I could put them on my blog.

I got down to the beach one time when there was no one else there but me. It was really peaceful. I don't really like the ocean. I like the woods and the mountains, but it is one of God's creations. So I made myself think of 10 things I liked about it.

I watched a woman making a sandcastle and sketched her. I liked the colorful little unbrellas that people had on the beach.

I'm working on my yard again

I have some kind of spindley grass that gets really tall really fast. I would like to mow about every other week, but this grass gets pretty tall in a week.

I sprinkled some stuff that's susposed to kill crabgrass, but the neighbor told me that I also have Dallas grass and MSMA was the only thing that would get rid of it.

I guess I will see what this stuff does and then go get some of that other stuff. I think it would be better just to have my yard with rocks and cactus - it would take less water.

Meeting with friends

I met with some friends at the Mall today after work. Some of them I haven't seen in a year or more, but we have talked on the phone or email. We set goals for ourselves for this month and then were going to get back together to see if we made it. Mine are organizational goals. I need to set up files for my papers at home and just get my entire home more organized. I may not be able to do that all in a month with all the other stuff I do, but I should be able to get a start on it.

I know it doesn't look like we had on shoes in my picture, but we did ;-)

Already Planning my next adventure ;-)

My boss is letting me take off a half day friday, if I make the time before I leave. I plan to go and camp where the wild hogs roam. I'm not sure if I will take a tent, or just sleep in my car - where I am sure that they can't get me ;-)

I'm back

Vacation was great. The best part was getting to know of the people from my Sunday School Class. On the way there I was thinking that maybe I would go scuba diving, parasailing and or snorkling. When I got there we went down to the water and it felt cold to me and I didn't even want to go in. I did get in a few times and we tossed a ball back and forth in the water. Then I went on a 2 hour Dolphin tour. I ended up going on two of them. One at sunset. I'll post more later.
