My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

House Inspection

The Inspector should let me know it there is something wrong with the house that I didn't notice. I'm really hopeful that there isn't.

I'm also going to run by and get another look at it myself. It may be kind of bad to take one look at a house and bid on it, but I knew when I saw it that it would be a good house for me. It's almost too much excitement.

My end of year appraisal is also due at work tomorrow and I need to change my focus to that as much as possible tomorrow.

Did I kick the tires?

When I told one of my friends that I got a new house, he asked me if I kicked the tires. Now I wonder what he was trying to say ;-)

Well actually I didn't see any tires when I was looking at the house, but the inspector is going out there in the next day or two and I'm sure if there are any tires that he will kick them. (maybe they are on the roof ;-)

I have nothing against mobile homes, I lived in one for a while and even had a goat chew off some of the siding.... so I'm not too fancy for that...but this house is nice.

Just call me Betty

I hate legal papers .
I got an addendum to the contract on the house with my name as Betty.

Now we have to write a new addendum to add to the first addendum saying that my name is not Betty. Oh the joy of dealing with legal papers ;-)
I also don't know why we can't have legal documents in plain language.

I would be nice to understand what we have to sign. I wonder if Lawyers play jokes on us and we don't even know it.

It's all mine

Is it just me or is this sign hanging a little crooked.

My Realtor called and they wanted just a bit more than I offered, but it's still a good deal and I said fine. So this house will be my valentines gift to myself. Much better than the year I just ran in the grocery store and bought myself some flowers.

Now I will have room to paint again.

Decorating my new home

I think I have found just the thing for a leaning house,
leaning bookshelves.

Actually I don't know yet if I will get the house, but there is not a really good reason that I wont this time. The other houses had lot of offers on them, but this one just has me, thanks to the awful picture of the house that someone took.

The Leaning House of Moggy

I found some houses that I wanted to look at and my Realtor was very much not interested in showing me one house because in the picture it looks like it's leaning. I didn't think it was really leaning and it was the one I most wanted to look at. Anyway I told her that I was leaning toward the leaning house and we went and looked at several other houses first.

Long story short - I put a bid on the "leaning house".

The Diet goes on

I'm doing okay, but I have to say that when I open a can of cat food, it's starting to smell really good. I have one more day of the five day diet and so I haven't gotten to eat a lot of the things that I love.

The Diet Shake

I'm really surprised at how much I'm enjoying this diet. Today I found a little shaker bottle that's just the right size. I'm going to have to make up a song parody to shake my shake to ;-)

I know I have lost at least a pound. I meant to measure myself and I may go ahead and do that tonight. That way I can also lose inches.

New Diet Plan

Today I start on a new diet. The first 5 days are the strictest and then it's not so bad. It's actually better than the way I usually eat so it will be interesting to see how it work.

My friend is going to take a before picture of me today (not that I will be posting it)

Saturday Battery Search

It's almost lunch and I've got to get out in the cold and try to find a new battery. This week every time I go to crank my truck I'm afraid it won't crank. It's just getting a little sluggish. I also need the oil changed and I still need to replace the window I kicked out ;-).

I doubt that I will get that all done today, but I hope I get the battery and a lot of other stuff done.

I don't want to be stranded out in the cold with a dead battery.

10 bean breakfast

One of the good things about not eating everything I want all day is that I really enjoy the food when I eat.

Yesterday I soaked beans from a 10 bean soup package. Before I went to bed I put them in my crockpot along with a little bit of chicken. This morning I added chili.

I had 10 bean chili for my cold winters breakfast.

Flying at Half Fast

Sunday someone invited me to fast with them. So I did a liquid fast for three days.

Last night I made some soup in my Crockpot and so this morning I am enjoying that.

Now I'm going on a half fast and trying to be less conscious of food and more conscious of God.

I've looked at my worst times of food and it's work, because of the vending machine, cafeterias and social eating.

I think for now I will eat a small breakfast at home and then fast at work.

Okay where did I put my coat

I've got to rethink the way I'm getting organized. I can't find my coat. I looked in my truck, front and back, so I'm thinking maybe I put it in a box.

Getting organized is really hard ;-(

I've been busy sleeping

Yesterday I came home from work and except for getting up to answer the phone and talking for a while. I slept all the way till 6:30 this morning. I can't wait to see how I look with all that beauty sleep. ;-)

I slept, and dreamed
that life was Beauty;
I woke, and found
that life was Duty.

Curls and No Curls

I slept with curlers in my hair and some of them fell out. So when I got ready for work I had some really nice curls and some really straight hair. My fancy friend at work had a curling iron and so she fixed it at lunch so it all looked the same ;-)

Trying to get organized

Today I got some totes and am trying to get my stuff in order. It's not something that I'm good at, but I'm determined to become better at it. I really want to move, but I want to make some changes to my house and stuff so that I'm not moving too much stuff to a new place.

Hanging out with blondes

I went to look at another house, but decided not to make a bid on it. It needed a lot of work.

Then after work I went to eat with a couple of my blonde friends. They probably make me look old. I need to find some older friends to hang out with. We had a couple of brown haired friends that couldn't come.

My Poor Truck

My truck had to run over a large tire in the road today. There was too much traffic to get out of the way and a big truck in front of me didn't let me see the tire before it was too late.

I had went to ride with my Dad to the Doctor. He had more cancer cut from his face, but they said they got it all and so it wasn't too bad. I don't think it was a really big place, but I only saw it with a bandage over it.

I have too much on my mind

This morning I took out the trash, got in my truck and headed for work. Did I close the front door? NO!!!! I just left it open, not just un-locked open.

Lucky for me I don't live alone and someone noticed and closed it within an hour or so. I don't think I would like it if I was asleep and someone left and just left the door open.

Also lucky I have a glass door that shuts itself and The Cat didn't get out.

Guess What?

I didn't get the house. Someone bid $66 more than me and got it. I had no way to know and I really think it was God's way of telling me that he had something to do with it. I had prayed that the bid would be close, so I would know it was his will. I was thinking close with them bidding less than me though ;-/

I think if God had seen a little more progress in me in some areas that "we" are working on ;-) then I would be moving now.

Waiting

I should know before Monday is over if they accepted my bid on that house. I really hate making these kind of decisions and would much rather have someone taking care of me, but oh well..... I have asked God to help me with it and for the most part I am confident that this is the direction that he is leading me, but there is that little nagging fear that it's my own will that I am listening to and not God's will.

I'm praying that if this is not God's will then I won't get the house. I know that he can see the big picture and I may be missing something when I'm trying to decide.

Another Dream

This time I dreamed about my Grandparents old house. The land there was mostly sand and we loved to play out in it. The ditches beside the road that ran past their house were just wonderful sand to play in.

The dream was not that great. There was a tiny big eyed black cat in the house and it wasn't like my Grandparents were there, even in the dream they had passed away years before.

Today I'm going to help a friend move some things in her house to get ready for her father to get out of the hospital and come to her place. She is getting a hospital bed for him. He is in his 90's and so can't be left alone. She is so sweet and she really loves her Dad. He is a wonderful person and has a very clear mind.

I had a bad dream ;-(

I dreamed that I was moving into my new house and began to see things that I didn't see before. The dining room was really not level, I mean REALLY. There were two giant trees growing into the front by the door and the door knob came off in my hand. There was some kind of rubber/plastic netting over the top of the tub.

Behind the house was like some kind of alleyway with a tall concrete wall around it, and a iron gate, which people were going through. The neighborhood was really bad and the house was falling down ;-( .... and I'm going to bid on a house today ;-/

Quote: “The avenues in my neighborhood are Pride, Covetousness and Lust; the cross streets are Anger, Gluttony, Envy and Sloth. I live over on Sloth, and the style on our street is to avoid the other thoroughfares.” - John Chancellor

P.S. lest you think I'm getting too fancy, the house I'm biding on doesn't have a dining room ;-)
