My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Happy Hallloween

I think this is a good video for Halloween. I think a lot of us have some things that scare us. Today I don't even want to go out the door. That is the way I am sometimes on a Saturday. Once I make myself go out I'm okay.

It's Friday

We can wear costumes today and I'm going to wear my Mogdonna outfit to work.

Oh no I just remembered that I need to find my badge. If I dont find it I hope they will still let me in the building.

Honesty

Our pastor had someone come up and play this song. Im sure I have heard it, but never really listened to the words. I am so much more interested in honesty now than I was when I was younger. I don't think I understood how dishonest some people could be.

Who would have thought I could find this with a Moggy pink background ;-)

Same word different tone

I went to the store with The Girl and as we were walking back to the car she saw a pidgeon. It was under a little tree. She loves all creatures and was saying awww about how cute it was. Then I heard her say awww in a completely different tone. She didn't see the pidegon in the tree and it got her on the sleeve.

This kind of stuff usually happens to me, but I guess she is growing up ;-)

Threading

One of my friends knew of a place we could go to get threaded. Three of us went, but I went first. I tried to act like it didn't hurt so I would not scare the next person in line. I waited till she was in the chair getting started to say, I was just kidding it did hurt a little. ;-)

Stumbling over God's Word

Early this week I noticed that I had a really big bruise on my foot and when I was reading my daily bible reading I ran accross this verse.

I can see how that might make me think that Angels were susposed to stop me from getting a bruise on my foot, but.... This was said to Jesus and it was said by Satan. That puts a different light on the verse.

I love God's word and I have to be careful not to take things out of context.

Oh and I was really worried about my foot because I didn't remember doing anything to it, but then I remembered running into a metal grill by the campfire and almost falling in the fire.... so if an Angel did keep me from actually falling in the fire I think that would be enough ;-)

Eharmony

I have been emailing someone on eharmony and this was the first time to get a phone call from them. It always makes me nervous to talk to someone for the first time.

It wasn't too bad for a first conversation. We talked for almost two hours and I think we both talk so much that it was a little hard to get a word in for both of us.

Create in me a clean heart

A clean heart or a pure heart is a wonderful thing. You see the joy in little children who have not been exposed to harsh things in this world yet.

That's what I want to be like one of those little children, with God as my father who protects me from the harsh things.

It's not that those things would not exist, but that my trust would be in him.

I'm only human

I got an email at work that there was wedding cake in one of the offices to come get some. Okay I should have deleted the email and stayed away but I didn't.

Turns out there were 5 or 6 wedding cakes because of some bridal event they had. These were really fancy too.

I was tempted beyond what I was willing to overcome I guess and I gave in and had a piece, but I'm going to be good from now on. ;-)

It's Saturday ;-)

I have to get busy because I'm going to try to go camping tonight.

I have been reading the bible first thing in the morning.... before I let myself do anything else. That has been good for me.

It's actually starting to be easier to read.

I need to start reading it from the actual book and not just off the internet, because I don't always have access to the internet.

Didn't leave Church till after 10:00

They had a concert at Church and the parking lot was really crowded. It was after 10:00 when the parking lot cleared out a little bit. I just sat on a bench and talked to a new lady while the parking lot cleared out.

The weather was not bad. Very wet but not bad.

Quote: One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action, and filled with noble risks, is worth whole years of those mean observances of paltry decorum, in which men steal through existence, like sluggish waters through a marsh, without either honor or observation. - Sir Walter Scott

Skin of a Reason

I'm very short on time this morning and don't have time for a cartoon, but one thing I did notice this morning. I heard myself saying (inside my head) that I don't have time this morning for my daily bible reading. And yet...... I somehow did have time to read about the news and check my email and check my blog. I will try to get my bible reading done sometime during the day but I don't get home till late on tuesday. I don't think the fact that I am late because I go straight to Church after work is really a good excuse. (cartoon added later)

Impact of Books and Words

We had a great speaker at Church today and the books they had written had and impact on me before I had a chance to be impacted by what they had to say.

I was out in the lobby looking at the book table when they needed to move it and didn't see me at the other end ;-)

I should have known

I think really I did know this, but now that I'm looking at it closely .... I see that I need to get a move on and get ready for work.

I got up late and somehow I think I'm special and it's okay to run late, but I guess it's really not. I tell myself that if I make up my time at lunch or after hours then it really doesn't matter.

I know that I have a commitment to be there on time.

Today I will plan first

Sometimes I plan and don't carry out those plans and sometimes I do things without planning at all. I can really see the wisdom of planning first and then to prepare things.

My big goal right now it to get organized at work and at home. For some people being organized and planning before acting comes natural. I am not one of those people.

Two Days in a Row

I did the daily bible reading again this morning. Ofcourse now I need to rush and get ready for work and put out the trash.

I have a new perscription from the Doctor. I went to the drug store to get and old perscription refilled and the new one filled.

They misunderstood me and filled the new one while I waited. I then asked about the other one and they said "do you want to wait" and I didn't. I sometimes wonder if I am not speaking clearly because people don't always understand what I'm trying to say.

Back to the Bible

This morning I was able to tear myself away from the news and the other distractions and get back to reading the bible. I know it's bad of me to ever skip that.

The people who faithfully read my blog have reminded me that I need to be faithfully reading God's word.

Gathering Recipes

I've been looking at recipes. I have a couple of thing I'm looking for. I want some really good low calorie recipes for everyday and..... I'm starting to work on my Thanksgiving menu.
