My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

It just will not stop raining

We have had a lot of flooding in Texas and where I live, it hasn't been a big problem to me.

I was going to get all my painting stuff together and the lights went out for a long time.

I found out that I was not prepared for that sort of thing. I would say I will be next time, but it's been years and years since I had to go for any length of time without electricity, so I will probably not be ready next time either.

Gathering my Supplies

I have a few people who want portraits from me and I need to get back into painting. I'm going to try to gather up all my painting stuff and figure out a spot to paint in (my house is pretty small)

Another Bigfoot Hunt

They have another hunt for Bigfoot next month in Manistique Michigan.

You know how much I want to see Bigfoot.

In reading about it I came across the word "cryptozoology" which is the study of creatures that have not been proven to exist. Now that is something that I would be willing to go back to college for ;-)

Looking for a new look

I went out on the web and found a site that lets you try on hairstyles and different colors of hair. I would give you a link, but it wasn't that great. I did see a lot of really awful stuff.

Maybe I should try to work on some other area and leave my hair for later. Maybe I could paint my fingernails or my toenails. I would do something at lunch tomorrow, but I'm thinking of going to the writers group.

The cough is subsiding

This time of not feeling like doing anything has not helped my figure. I have a hula hoop out in the truck. I bought it, but haven't brought it in yet.

I'm just going to work on myself. My appearance and my character defects. I'm ordering a book called "Drop the rock" it's about working on your character defects.

My biggest defect is procrastination, so that's first (or should I wait on that one ;-) and maybe dye my hair red.

Mowing around the sunflowers

Part of me just wanted to rest all day, but there is work to be done. Especially after being sick for so long. I did get about 1/3 of the back yard mowed. I still haven't done anything about the huge group of sunflowers I let grow in the middle.

It's supposed to rain, but I hope it doesn't because I just left the lawn more out there. After all I'm not finished yet.

Singing in the rain

A group from my Church went to see the old movie "Singing in the Rain" they were playing it outside at a park. I probably shouldn't have stayed out that late, because they had to wait till it was dark to start the movie, but it was fun.

There was a woman I had never seen before sitting next to me and when she went to the restroom, she asked me to watch her purse. She wasn't even a part of our group and I was happy that she trusted me.

Sleeping Moggy & the evil cough

Since it's Saturday I'm taking it easy. I have been up, but I went back to sleep and I feel a lot better. I have "misplaced" one of my inhalers ;-( I've got to get up the energy to clean out my truck, because I'm hoping it's in there. If not I may go and get my perscription filled, because I don't want to go all the way back to work to pick it up and it's the first thing that has helped with this cough.

Bad Coughing Spell Today

I seem to have been getting worse today instead of better, and I had a coughing spell that just wouldn't quit. I called the Dr. and got to talk to the nurse. I could not stop coughing and so they gave me an inhaler. I have an appointment to go in tomorrow.

I sure hope they can do something to help. I've tried a lot of natural and unnatural remedys.
I have garlic, fish oil, vinegar, folic acid, pills that replace fruits and pills that replace vegetables, cayenne pepper, etc.

Pictionary

Today we had our monthly team building get-together. (Yes this is why we went to a kids amusement park last month and I ended up getting enough germs to keep me sick for a month) Anyway the team I was on won and so they gave each of us a $10 gift certificate for a movie.

Drawing on my blog everyday finally payed off
Yes and at $10 ;-)
I probably cleared about .01 cents per hour.

I'm tired of people feeling sorry for me

I can't stop coughing and everyone is feeling bad for me. I'm thinking of buying a pack of cigarettes and carrying them around. Then when people hear me coughing and they look at me, I will just point at the cigarettes and say I'm trying to stop.

That way they will look at me with disgust and think I am doing this to myself instead of feeling sorry for me ;-)

I know it's not a great plan, but I'm trying to come up with something.

I remembered today that cat claw is good for you, but the only thing I could find at work was a bear claw ;-) so I ate that.

Father's Day Report

A few weeks ago I went to my parents house in the country to recoup. It was raining and I left some muddy boots on the porch by the door meaning to bring them home with me. My Dad washed them off and scrubbed the bottoms with an old toothbrush. He washed out the inside and oiled the outside and stuffed them with newspaper and put them outside on a board to dry.

I was really touched by his kindness.

Sunday Lesson - Character Defects

This is a long post, so don't feel that you have to read it all. I just wanted to find a good list of character defects. This is something that I am currently working on in my life. Lucky for me

It's been raining most of the day

I did get out for a while and ended up coming back in the dark and the rain today. It was sort of fun and sort of scary. I will probably go and visit my Dad tomorrow and say happy fathers day to him and then try to make it to Church for the evening service.

I got a few things from the health food store I'm going to try. Cayenne pepper, garlic, niacin and then a bottle of vegetable pills and a bottle of fruit pills. I will hardly have room to eat after all that ;-)

Quote: “Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield.” - not sure who wrote this, but I will add "some days you are the rain".

bourbon pecan pie

Desert and Cough Medicine all in one.

I had bourbon pecan pie for the first time. That's what everyone else was having and I didn't hear the waitress very well and didn't realize it was going to have bourbon in it.

They say the alcohol burns off, but it's the taste of alcohol that I don't like, so why would they put the stuff into a desert.

It had enough sugar in it that I was able to eat it in spite of the bourbon and so maybe it will help me with my speedy recovery.

MerMog

Since the masses (aka Janet) want to know more about how I feel.

I'm not coughing so much at the moment and I feel better so far today.

Yesterday I felt like when you have been swimming or in water for a long time and then you come out and the gravity feels stronger. I felt like it took a lot of effort just to walk, so I came home and slept.

Everything here is blooming and maybe this is due in part to all the pollen floating around. It could also be due to some of the medicine the doctor gave me. I'm not going to take it today and see if I feel better without it.

Stuck in Youtube

Last night I decided that laughter is the best medicine.

I went to youtube and looked at old comedy films. I was in there a little too long, but I did find a lot of neat stuff.

How to cure a cough

Sorry to say that I have not found the magic cure yet. I did find this sure cure by looking on the Internet, but it was so awful that I can't say I was able to give it a real chance.

Today is a big day at work, so I have to get going.

Last Sunday School Class

Today is the last day for our Sunday School Class.

We have some activities planned and I still have my Tuesday meeting.

I hope people will stay in touch.

It's time to get serious

I'm feeling better and I have a lot of housework to do ;-/

So today I'm going to put on a serious face and stay off of the Internet and see if I can actually get some stuff done.

Moggy on Steroids

Now maybe I will have muscles to go with my washboard abs. The doctor put me on steroids to try to get me well.

I only got 5 pills, so I may not actually start to look like the picture, but I can dream ;-)

Too bad I don't feel up to going to the gym while I'm taking these, I could really get a work out.

I go to the Doctor again today

I can't eat until after I go because they are going to take some of my blood. I still can't stop coughing. I just hope I can be still and not cough while they take the blood.

I'm going to see if the doctor will give me some kind of breathing disk -powder thing like she did last year. Now I'm wondering if it's because it's rained so much here that I'm having trouble getting well. I'm a sun shine kind of lady ;-)

Coughing for your abs

Don't get me wrong, I'm really tired of coughing, but I'm trying to make the best of things and so.... I think that maybe coughing is good for the ab muscles. I will probably have washboard abs when I get well and then it will be swim suit season ;-)

If that doesn't work, maybe I will just carry around a washboard and pretend I'm in a band. I think I look pretty good behind a washboard.

The green green grass of home

If I have the time I am going to run home and mow the yard between work and Church.

It's been raining so much and I have an electric mower.

I have let the grass get a little too tall. If I don't mow soon the city will mow for me and send me a bill.

My neighbor on one side doesn't work and he mows just about everyday, so it really makes my yard look bad.

Do I talk about my blog too much?

I happened across this shirt and I wonder if I do talk about my blog too much?

Today I made it through the work day, but as soon as I got home I took a long nap and now I'm ready to go to sleep for the night.

I feel like I'm getting old, so I'm going to try to eat more healthy after this.

Food and Fellowship X 2

I was running late this morning, but I got to Church in time to go out and eat with everyone. Then I went back for evening service and we went out to eat again.

I am so full, but it was so good to be around friends.

Family

I will be out of town most of the day because I'm going to visit with family. Some of our family has lived in Texas since 1833 that I know of. I will be happy to see some of my cousins that I don't see very often. We don't really all look just alike ;-)

Back to work

I am going to try to last 4 hours at work today, because we have a training class that has been paid for already. My Boss had us sign up for this a while back, it's for our entire group and it's about teamwork.
