My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

What to Wear?

Here I am blogging and I need to get going and dress and head out to work. I have a lot I need to do when I get home. And I need to do laundry too.

Quote:I believe you should live each day as if it is your last, which is why I don't have any clean laundry, because, come on, who wants to wash clothes on the last day of their life?” - not sure how said this

Too(much to do)sday

I have a long to do list for work and home today and then I have Church, so I need to get going.

As I write this my toes are being reminded by the cat's teeth to walk over to the cat bowl and fill it.

Is it Monday again ;-(

I was entirely without a network cable Saturday night and didn't get to see if there were any problems at work, or check my emails. The guy at the front desk of the hotel let me borrow his a few times. Saturday he loaned it to someone who didn't bring it back.

Sunday School

I was going to leave early enough to get to Sunday School since the class did not go on to Sunday, but I didn't make it. My friend called to see if I was going to be there and I was half way back.

She did tell me where they were eating this time, so I was able to join everyone to eat.

Saturday Painting

I did two more paintings starting on Friday and working all day Saturday on them. I still have to go back in and do some finish work. I had trouble deciding what pictures to paint, but this is what I ended up deciding on.

I still have some work to do on these, but I don't think that will take long.

Friday Paintings

This is the painting I did on Thursday and Friday, I still want to go back in and darken the top a little, but I'm not sure if I will. In the photo that I had the hands were cut off slightly and so I painted a little bouquet to hide that. I think it turned out well, but will be more sure when the subject, or other people who know them look at it and say it's good.

Thursday

This should have been the first day of the painting workshop according to my plans, unfortunately reality was a little different and the class started on Wednesday ;-( I found out about it too late to make it to the first day.

Still I got started on Thursday and got pretty far along. It was great to see old friends. There were at least 6 people that I had not seen in three years, because that's how long it's been since I have gone to this particular painting workshop.

Today I leave for painting class

Quote: I like the fact that in ancient Chinese art the great painters always included a deliberate flaw in their work: human creation is never perfect. - unknown

Oh yeah, that's whey I leave a flaw in my paintings too ;-)

Not sure if I will be able to update the blog, while I am away, but I will put pictures later.

Monday Scrunchey Toes

I went to the Dr. this morning and one thing I was a little worried about was that my toes were feeling numb. Come to find out, the Dr. thinks that I have been wearing some shoes that were too tight. So I just need to get some shoes with a little more toe room. I saw this pair on the web and they look perfect.

I went to visit a friend who is house sitting. It strikes me as sort of funny at our age. It's sort of like having a party when your parents are out, but she has permission, so I guess it's not quite like that.

bad day

I was late to Church, didn't see a parking spot, so I just left. Then I thought I would catch everyone at lunch later, but when I got there I was either at the wrong place or too late.

My truck is on empty I'm out of my prescription and I need to go get supplies for the art class I'm taking at the end of the week, and do some homework for work. Whine, whine whine.

Now that I have that out, I'm going to try to make the best of the rest of the day ;-)

P.S. Okay I cleaned out my purse and made sure I had my prescription card and headed off. Well I had my card, but not my drivers license or credit card, or bank card. So I had to come back home, but now I'm off again and this time I'm going to make the best of the rest of the day ;-)

Drawing Icons

This is something new for me. I have been trying to create some icons. It was fun, but it's not easy to draw something really small with one color and have it look like what it's supposed to be.

Today it rained for the better part of the day, but it wasn't freezing. It's not even going to get down to freezing tonight - yeah. I was about to have to get a heat lamp and sleep with it shining on me, so I could feel like it was summer.

Quote: I never think of myself as an icon. What is in other people's minds is not in my mind. I just do my thing.

Winter

One thing I do enjoy about this time of year, is the bird nests in the trees.

I like the spring and summer when the trees all have their leaves, but at this time of year you can really see the nests.

I like to try to remember in the spring when I'm just looking at a bunch of leaves that certain trees are full of birds homes that I can't see for the leaves.

There were a lot of years that I forgot to look and enjoy this, but the last few years I have started back enjoying nature more.

Quote: Use those talents you have. You will make it. You will give joy to the world. Take this tip from nature: The woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except those who sang best.

Microwave Mistake

Yesterday I was very good and took something to work to heat up in the microwave instead of buying lunch. I was careful not to put it in for two long and I checked it twice while it was heating, but the last time, my cup had melted down to about half it's size and I had to clean out the microwave ;-(

Quote: It is ludicrous to read the microwave direction on the boxes of food you buy, as each one will have a disclaimer: "THIS WILL VARY WITH YOUR MICROWAVE." Loosely translated, this means, "You're on your own, Bernice." - Erma Bombeck

It's been a Year

It doesn't seem like it, but it was a year ago on Jan 17 when my Blog first started. I have kept up with it almost daily. It's been fun and I hope I'm able to keep it going for another year.

I hate paying bills

I like to pay them online, but the electric company changed some of the way it works and made it harder on me. I used to have to just click on it, put in a password and quick as a wink, it's paid.

They would not leave well enough alone and now they want an account number off of my bill. If I wanted to deal with a bill I wouldn't be doing this online.

Frozen Door

When I went out to get in my truck today the door was frozen shut. I had to climb in the other side to get in. I was able to get out at work, but the door was frozen again when I was ready to come home.
It wouldn't be so bad, but I have the seat scooted really far farward and so it's hard to behind the wheel from the other side.

Frozen Rain

I don't remember hearing about frozen rain when I was a kid, but that's what they say today. I think it's going to stop this morning though and then it should be okay.

What is the difference between frozen rain and sleet? I know that it's not the same as snow or hail. I know when we freeze water for icecubes it's more like hail.

It's still really cold

It did stop raining, but it's still really cold out there. I haven't even gotten out of the house today at all. I may not go outside tomorrow either.

I'm just not a cold weather person, but I know that God created the cold too, so I'm going to try to think of something good about it.

I'm going to need a few kind words here ;-)

It's been raining for about 12 hours

I love the rain as long as the weather is nice and the rain doesn't go on and on, but it's really cold and the rain will turn into something entirely different. Something that I do not like.

1980's Hairstyles

We are having an 80's party at Church next month, so I have been looking at fashions and hairstyles. I'm not sure how I had my hair back in the 80's, but I do think once I had it curly like Pam on the show "Dallas" curly and longer than it is now.

This is what I found for an 80's hair style. Then I had to tone it to Moggy Orange. My hair is not really orange, but it's been close a couple of times.

I left my wallet at work

I took it out of my purse, and didn't put it back in.

I got to the grocery store and happened to check before I picked out anything. I did have a little money, so I just had to be careful and get a few things. I will be happy to be reunited with my wallet.

My glasses keep sliding down

I just don't have enough nose to hold them up. I wonder if I could get something that would work like suspenders for glasses? I'm not sure how well that look would be accepted in the corporate world, but I have a lot of reading to do tonight and I am tired of pushing up my glasses.

So far so bad

I really am going to lose weight this year, I just haven't hit on the right plan yet. I know that this is not it. If I wasn't being bad enough with the cupcake (actually there were two in the pack) . I got a package from a vendor with candy in it. I guess that goes to show that when you go in a bad direction things end up worse than you even meant them to be.

My friend who walks with me and tries to lose weight with me was not at work today.

I need to drink more water

I had a good day today, but I'm really tired. I have been reading about how much water you need to drink and I can see that I really need more, so maybe if I do that it will help.

The average adult loses and requires 2 to 3 liters of water daily. Other factors, such as heat exposure, cold exposure, intense activity, high altitude, burns, or illness, can cause your body to lose more water. You must replace this water.

Keeping up with two blogs

I'm trying this year to keep two blogs. I feel like a juggler and may not be able to keep up with them both daily. I have so much going on in my life now. Most of it is good, but there is just sooo much of it.

By the way, my other blog is http://biay.blogspot.com/

Painting Workshop

I am signing up for a painting workshop and I'm so excited about going. It's a four day class and I already have some ideas for paintings lined up.

I probably shouldn't spend the money, but I have a friend going with me and so it's like a vacation. I seem to need a lot of little vacations.

Watching What I Eat

I'm going to try to start watching what I eat. It's not so much weight as health. I think that too often we just don't pay enough attention to what we're eating.

At work the food that is easiest to get to, is not really even food. It's the stuff in the vending machine.

I"m taking nuts to work and see if I can snack on them instead today.

New Years Resolutions

This year I have decided to have goals instead of resolutions. I haven't gotten them all worked out, but I'm going to put a time line together and see if I can reach my goals. I'm not quite ready to share what my goals are.

Old Church

This is the hallway of the old Church that I went to New Years Eve. It was beautiful, but that's not all. They had a wonderful pastor.

First Day of the New Year

For New Years Eve, we went to eat in one of those restaurants that are up in a tower and spin around so you can look out on the entire city. I have never been in one of those before and I did peek out going up the glass elevator. I didn't think that I could eat up there moving around, but I did.
