My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Almost Half Way

If your looking forward to the weekend it's getting closer. I'm hoping to get my truck back Friday. I haven't heard anything from the repair place and I guess I'm going to have to call them.

I did get the accident report and I am hoping that the other car's insurance will pay for mine.

I missed the Oscars

So now I'm looking on line at the best and worst dressed. I guess you have to be somebody before you would even be picked worst dressed, so I'm probably safe. But if I ever become someone, I am so going to be on the worst dressed list ;-)

I think things will get better

For some reason I'm a little depressed today. Maybe it's just that I had such a busy week. With the wreck last week and trying to get my truck fixed and a lot going on at work.

I've had a headache some this weekend which is not like me, but I will hopefully pull out of it and not be whiny all week on my blog.

SAP - Saturday Action Plan

I'm going to try to map out my day a little better today and really get some stuff done. If I don't I'm sure that nothing will get done.

Hopefully with a plan I will be able to accomplish a lot.

Were still having meetings

I think that I asked more questions than anyone and I was the first one of my group to the meeting this time. I went in fairly early.

Where is the meeting?

I went in to work not as early as I would like, but I was there on time and everyone was ready to go to a meeting. I heard someone say let's go and I grabbed my stuff, but by the time I got out of my cube, they were gone.

I thought we were meeting in a room not to far away, but no, I had read the email wrong and I couldn't figure out where they were.

My boss called and left a "where are you" message on my phone when I was looking for them and when I went back to my desk, I had to call her to see where to go. She said I need to read my email better and she is right. There was some earlier mix up about what room we would be in, but I thought I knew ;-(

Yeah!!! I have a rental

I will be glad to get my truck back, but for now I'm enjoying driving around something that looks a little more sporty.

When I was at the rental place the guy told me he thought the last person said they had trouble with the key, but the other guy said no it was fine.

I should have tried to take the key out there, but I didn't. Then I had to call them back to tell them I couldn't get it out. But just when he answered the phone I did get the key out. It has a special way to get it out and I just did it accidentally, so it's a good thing I called. He told me how to get the key out and so now I'm pretty happy with the car.

Still not sure when my truck will be fixed

I'm not looking forward to driving a rental car. I have before and it was fine, but I was so comfortable in my truck.

I called about my police report yesterday, and I would be having a lot less trouble if I had gotten the other persons insurance information, but I'm just not skilled in accident protocol.

Sunday School and walking

Until I can get my car fixed I have to borrow "The Girls" car. It used to be my car and I really loved it, but after driving the truck for a while, it seems really small.

Hopefully I can get the police report tomorrow and start to get my truck fixed. I also need to clean it out tomorrow. I had about four of my paintings in the back when I had the accident. They didn't get hurt.

Sunday

After lunch some of us met at the park and went for a long walk. I have not walked in a while, so I wasn't sure if I would make it, but I did.

Quote:As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives. - Henry David Thoreau

My truck got hit by a car ;-(

I was driving down a three lane road this morning and a lady two lanes over got hit and knocked into me. My headlight got busted out, my hood bent and the bumper bent in so that the tire could not turn very far right.

The person who hit her (I am assuming it was a man) kept going, but two different men stopped to see if we were okay.

She pushed me off of the road and down the embankment and onto the service road. We ended up with the front of her car against my drivers door and my drivers front tire. I had to climb out the other side of my truck to get out. She was in the embankment.

One of the men who stopped said to me "you must be an angel" he said that if I had not been there, for her car to hit, she would have probably been killed, because she was headed for a concrete wall and my truck stopped her. After that I didn't feel so bad about my truck being dented. He also said that it wasn't anyones day to die that day. I didn't see him after the firemen got there, so maybe he was an Angel.

Two firetrucks, an ambulance and two police cars came. We were both able to drive away, but I didn't go too far and then my Dad came and pulled my bumper out enough so I could turn the wheel.

I still have to get the truck fixed, but I feel good to be alive.

It's Friday - Wear your jeans day

For some reason Jeans still make me think of that old song "I love my shirt" by Donovan Leitch. I actually can still remember the first time I heard him sing on TV.

Lyrics

Do you have some jeans that you really love
Ones that you feel so groovy in ?
You don't even mind if they start to fray
That only makes them nicer still
I love my jeans, I love my jeans
My jeans are so comfortably lovely

Me and my shadow

I was standing there about to leave for work, and I could feel "The Cat" touching both of my feet. I looked down and he had both of his back feet on my feet. It was so cute, because he looked like he was trying to be my shadow.

It was a long day

I also got the rest of my stuff out of storage, now I have a lot of work to do in the garage getting it all settled back in.

I couldn't get the light to turn off inside the cab of my truck, so I tried taking out some of the fuses and that didn't fix it. Then I tried to pry off the cover so I could take out the bulbs. I didn't get the cover off, but I pried on it enough that the light went out.

I just hope it stays that way.

It's raining

I still have some stuff to get out of my storage unit. I probably would have finished yesterday, but there was a car with people in it sitting near the place where you put your code in to get into the gate and I decided to just come home and finish today.

How soon we forget

The only difference is this time I got cherry coke without the vanilla. blaaaaaaa I wish they would make the bottle a different color or something that stands out more.

---this is my post from Oct 25th just 3 1/2 months ago ------
I got what I thought was a regular coke out of the vending machine, but one taste told me it wasn't a regular coke.

I read on it and saw that it was a Black Cherry Vanilla Coke.

I don't really know what they put in it, but my guess is it's something like Syrup of Black Draught, Cherry Cough Medicine and Vanilla Extract.

I guess I don't have to tell you that I will not be buying this again on purpose.

I guess there are people who like this taste, but I am not one of them.

Cleaning out the Garage

Today's biggest chore is cleaning the garage and making room for the stuff out of my storage unit.

I will also have to go and get the stuff once I make room for it, but it's something that I need to do.

Some charity called and wants donations left out for them next week, so it's the perfect time to get rid of some old clothes and other junk if I can get it done.

Birthday Celebration Today

Not mine, but a couple of other people's. Anyway I'm not going to write too long this morning. I have a meeting with my boss first thing and want to get to work a little early.

At least it's Wednesday

This has been a busy week, I did find a dress that I am going to wear to the 1980's party Saturday. I could probably have just worn something that I already have and I probably will not look like I'm really in style for the 1980's, but I doubt that I was in style back then. Talking about getting dressed up, I better get ready for work, or I'm going to be late.

I read that the best place to look for a way to dress was to look at old Designing Women shows, or if you wanted to be really styling you might want to dress like Madonna did in the 80's

Big meeting today

I hope it all goes well, I have so much going on right now that I'm having trouble finding time for my fun stuff - like blogging ;-(

Hilbert's Hotel

Hilbert’s Hotel is a (hypothetical) hotel with an infinite number of rooms, each one of which is occupied. The hotel gives rise to a paradox: the hotel is full, and yet it has vacancies.

Suppose that a new visitor arrives; can he be accommodated? At first it seems that he cannot, but then the hotel clerk has an idea: He moves the guest in Room 1 to Room 2, and the guest in Room 2 to Room 3, and so on. Every guest is moved to the next room along.

For every guest, in every room, there is another room into which they can be moved. This leaves Room 1 vacant for the new visitor. Although the hotel is full, then, the new guest can be accommodated in Room 1.

By moving every guest to the room the number of which is double the number of their current room, all of the odd numbered rooms can be vacated for new guests. There are, of course, an infinite number of odd numbered rooms, and so an infinite number of new guests can be accommodated.

Quote: I've always thought a hotel ought to offer optional small animals. I mean a cat to sleep on your bed at night, or a dog of some kind to act pleased when you come in. You ever notice how a hotel room feels so lifeless?” - Anne Tyler

Doctors Orders

I have a list of things that my Doctor wants me to do to lower my cholesterol and I think I could do two of them at once.

It says to avoid coconuts and to get more exercise.

I may regret this

I picked up a home perm today and "The Girl" is going to help me roll my hair up and we'll just see how it turns out.

I just wanted a change, I've had straight hair for a while.

I was cold last night

I thought I was going to be cold and dressed way too warm to sleep. Now I don't feel like I will ever be cold again. I'm sure once I step out the front door that will be the end of that feeling. I'm glad it's friday, but I already know I will be bringing work home with me.
