My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

My Wild New Years Eve

New years eve we drove out to a friends land and we saw a couple of deer up really close. I also saw a rabbit while we were walking around. I really love nature. He captured two wild hogs and they were really mad about being caught.

Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not a Red Neck ;-)

Then we went shopping for camo coveralls (did I mention that I'm not a red neck) they were not for me.

New Year Eve Eve

I went all the way to Bandara (The cowboy capital of the world) and while I was there someone said "look there's a cat chasing a deer" I thought they were kidding and didn't see it at first, but it was a panther chasing a deer. I did see the deer and the panther. The deer got away and the panther left - thank goodness.

We were sitting outside by a campfire, but just in a friends yard and looking down the hill hoping to see a deer, but not expecting to see anything else.

I'm putting together some shelves

The cat has been helping and somehow it seems the shelves keep getting sort of sideways.

I'm also heading out the door for a 4 day New Years get-away. I will let you know how things go when I get back.

Laundry

I'm going away for a few days late Saturday or early Sunday. I'm trying to get my laundry done so I don't have too much to do Saturday. That and I was listening to an old western radio station on-line. I would post the link, but it got a little rough to listen to.

Looking at Houses

I found another house to bid on. I didn't get to see the inside of it yet. I'm going to go Saturday.

It has a little more room than I have now. I feel like God leading me in this direction otherwise I would never move. I pray that if this is God's will for me to have then he will open the doors for me to get it. If not I don't want it.

Merry Christmas Everyone

Remember the reason for celebrating Christmas and don't spend too much time thinking about presents, food, and that man in the red suit.

Movie Review

I went to see the movie "I am Legend" without reading anything about it. Yes I know that was dumb of me. I went with a group of friends and some of them enjoyed the movie, but I paid $9 to get in and was only able to see about 50 cents worth because I had to hide my face the rest of the time.

My suggestion is to not go and see it, I didn't find any redeeming qualities in it.

I'm really glad that Jesus was born to save us from sin.

My cell phone charger

I have never seen The Cat chew up an electrical cord before, but he REALLY chewed up the cord on my cell phone charger. I'm not sure if he is hungry from his diet, or just doesn't want me talking on the phone or what.

How did my perm turn out?

I got a perm that said apples but at first it was that same perm smell. Turns out that the apple smell is at the end.

My friend got a different kind and I swear it smelled like a skunk when we opened it.

The perm pulled a lot of the color out of my hair and now it's sort of brown and blond and gray.

Time for a change

I thought about becoming a blond, but decided not to. I'm going over to my fancy friends house and she is going to put a perm in my hair.

I'm going to help her put one in her hair too. I'm not really sure how we will look when this is over, but we both have wigs hidden away just in case it turns out really bad ;-)

I got a new coat today

It's a really dark gray short wool swing coat, with 3/4 length sleeves. The collar sort of stands up. I really like how it looks.

The coat I had was at least 3 years old. It was a black plastic coat that I bought at a little grocery store, not the height of fashion I have to say. There were little holes in it where the cat sharpened his claws.

Somedays are like that

I had a really great day, attended someone's huge retirement party at work and then had a really good argument with my co-worker. Then later as I was about to go home, I noticed that my zipper was down. So when did that happen? and how come no one told me.

I hope this is just a sign of a pair of pants that I need to get rid of and not of aging ;-(

A first for me

I got to sing in front of a group at Church today. Actually there were three of us singing and I didn't have the microphone. I tried not to get too close to it. The big thing was this was another song parody that I had written for Christmas.

It was sort of fun and got a really good reaction from the listeners. I had made a powerpoint with all the words and a lot of people joined in. There is something really neat about hearing a group sing something that you wrote ;-)

I'm grounded ;-(

It had to be done.

I've been spending too much time on line and not enough time doing chores. So until I can get things a little more under control I'm cutting way back on the Internet time.

So I'm only going to allow myself an hour a day on the internet and then only after my chores are done. So if you don't see any posts for a while you will know that I am not being very corporative about getting my chores done ;-)

The Proof is in the Pudding

In today's reading from http://www.oneyearbibleonline.com I was struck by the word "proves"

What would I come to him for protection from at this time in my life? I'm thinking at this point that I'm my own worst enemy. My prayer today is for the Lord to protect me from myself, my old habits and ways that I want God's help to change. So may the proof be in the pudding of my life.

P.S. I realize that this is not very funny, but I'm not feeling very funny today ;-/

The first freeze of the year

I woke up with a headache, probably from too much Internet and too much sweets and breathing heater air or cedar pollen. Sorry about the whining. There are three different places that I could go to today, A Christmas Party, a concert and a live Nativity.

I did go out and wrap the pipes and get the mail. I got two more Christmas Cards, I always like to see the pictures on them. I still need to get busy and send out a few more cards.

Peace On Earth, Good-Will To Dogs

This was a Christmas story that I really enjoyed listening to. You can listen to it by going to this site. You have to scroll down a little and click on the chapters.

It's really cute and I think would be okay for anyone to listen to.

Tis the Season

We had a small Happy Hour today. Not to be confused with the Christmas Party for the Entire Company, or the Party mentioned yesterday for our department.

I had Margaretta Pizza (not as bad as it sounds) and I think about a gallon of Dr. Pepper. They kept re-filling the glass when I wasn't looking and I was trying to finish it up and not get anymore.

Then there was something that I thought was little black berries, but turns out it was caviar ;-(.

Work Group Christmas Party

One thing they did was hand out presents and read a left/right story, where every time you hear the word right if you have a gift you have to pass it right and for the word left you pass it left. It's hard to keep up.

For one game they chose 6 people to became models and drew the names of Christmas songs that would play while they were on the walkway. Each of them got to choose three people to design their outfits and there was a table for each with wrapping paper, scissors, stapler, bows and tape on it.

This pictures was one of the best outfits, but the funniest one, was "Santa Baby" with a wrapping paper diaper ;-)

I am the clay

I woke up with this song in my head.
-----------------------------------
Have thine own way,
Lord!

Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter,
I am the clay.

Mold me and make me
after thy will,

while I am waiting,
yielded and still
---------------------------------------------
I really do want and need God to work in my life and I know that the changes in my life are things that only God can do.

I got a new brush

I got a bore bristle brush this time. I wanted to get The Cat a new brush too, he thinks we are going to share this one, but I don't really want to share my brush with a cat even if he is a cute one.

It turned really cold today, it's not freezing, but close enough. I'm so not a cold weather person that I just want to stay inside by the heater.

Company Christmas Party

There were a lot of things that I meant to do and didn't. For one thing I wanted to get a scarf because once again this dress was a little low in the front and I wanted to dye my hair darker. Not only did I not dye my hair, I couldn't even find my hair brush ;-(

The Cat got a Haircut

The cat went to the vet and got a haircut. He doesn't like the bath and haircut, but he feels so good and is so happy when I get him home.

The vet was worried about his weight and he is down to 27.5 lbs.

I need to get a picture of him, he is really cute when I pick him up he has a bandanna around his neck, like a little cowboy ;-)

Is that my shirt in the driveway?

My friend brought a shirt to work that she didn't want and gave it to me.

then ... when I went to lunch I draped it over my purse and carried it my my truck (or so I thought)

When I was walking back from lunch I saw this piece of material out in the driveway that looked an awful lot like that shirt and I didn't remember seeing it in my truck.

I went ahead and went out past the cars who were waiting to pick up people, I really didn't want it to be the shirt because that's embarrassing, but it was.

Do you think if I wear it to work anyone will say "Isn't that the shirt I saw out there being run over by cars?" ;-/

I found a dress today

But before I did, I almost got so stuck in a too small shirt that I couldn't get out. I always mis-judge just what size I really am. I'm not sure if it's denial, wishfull thinking or what. I did get a black dress with a little raised white design all over it and it's a little tight.

I hate shopping

I went to the store today to look for a dress to wear Saturday to my company Christmas party. I did find some boots, but I didn't like any of the other stuff I tried on. I will probably wear pants, but I would have liked to have found a nice Christmas dress.

I also darkened my hair, but it's been suggested that I go even darker and I agree.

I did find some boots and that was one thing I wanted.

Shopping for Christmas

I took my list for the little girl I got from the Angel Tree to shop for things for her for Christmas. I'm not sure why I didn't realize it before, but I really don't have very good taste when it comes to what someone should wear.If it's bad, it's not because I didn't try.

I don't even know why they sell stuff that looks really bad on?
