My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Tornado Watch

We had a storm pass by with a tornado watch.

A friend called me and told me the sirens were going off and that I should take cover, but they were not going off where I was. The Cat was home alone, and I'm so glad the storm passed over and didn't cause any trouble here.

Out of the loop

Today after Church I was going to eat with my friends, but I think they decided to eat somewhere else and didn't tell me. I wouldn't have minded so much but I ended up getting food from a place that I don't like because I thought everyone was going to eat there. Of course it could be that someone ate there and I didn't see them. I just got my food and then went to the cell phone store and then ran back by and still didn't see anyone so I came home.

Stud Finder

I'm going to put some shelves up at the new house and I don't want to be just putting holes into the wall without hitting something. As soon as I uncover my camera I will take some pictures of the new house.

I'm still around

I'm getting Internet access at my new house next Thursday and then hopefully I will get back to my almost daily postings ;-)

We are here to help you

I have two friends who have given up a day to help me in my new house. Now I have to figure out what I need them to do. I need help, but I'm not good at delegating. They plan to show up at 7:30 and so I will at least try to wake up. I'm also taking the cat in tomorrow for a bath and haircut. I need to try what they did in this video.

A real picture

Well of The Cat anyway. I wanted everyone to see how handsome he is. He has an appointment to get his hair cut on Friday and then I will try to get another picture of him.

I've got to run, it's late and I'm running back and forth between houses.

My New Sofa

Today was very busy and I got a new sofa. I will have to put the details later I made the decision to buy it without even seeing it. The person selling it was moving and it was a good price. I don't have internet access at "The Leaning House of Moggy" yet and I don't have a bed at my old house.

Sorry that I can't post as often at the moment, but I'm in the process of moving.

My decorating style

I don't usually quote myself, but as I start to try to decorate my new house, I was thinking of this song parody I made up a few years back when I was thinking how to decorate my current house.

It's from the old Donny and Marie song "I"m a little bit country/ I'm a little bit rock and roll"

I'm not sure that this is my final version, so if I run across it I will post it here.

Here it goes.....

I'm a little bit country
And a little bit french chateau
I'm a little bit old barn in a field
And a little bit armoire trimmed in gold

I don't know if it's good or bad
But I know I love it so
I'm a little bit country
And little bit french chateau

I'm a little bit red neck, and a little bit girls gone wild
I'm a little bit of rustic wood, and a little bit of marble tile
It may turn out good or bad
But my decor will be bold

I'm a little bit country
And I'm a little bit french chateau
I like that peaceful easy feeling of a laid back country porch
And yet when a french chef is on TV I'm ready for a second course

I love the old west with all my heart and soul
Yet when I think of decorating, I'm a little bit french chateau
I think it will alright
But I have no way to know

I think I'll decorate with down home country
And a little bit of French chateau
I like that peaceful easy feeling of a tire hung from a tree.
Yet a bistro table in my kitchen, how cool would that be..

I love the old west with all my heart and soul
Yet I'm think of decorating with a bit of french chateau
I think it will alright
But I have no way to know

If I decorate with down home country
And a little bit of French chateau
It'll be a little bit country
With a touch of French chateau

Shelves for the new house

I'm putting together some book shelves for the new house. As I was looking at my boxes to move to the new house I realized that I have a lot of boxes that just have books in them.

These books have remained in boxes for a long time and it would be nice to get them out. Many of them have moved with me a few times without ever getting out of their box.

Red Sofa

I found a sofa that I like. This is on sale until March 11th, so I might get it. I just want something simple and for some reason I'm really liking metal right now.

It sort of depends on how comfortable this is and if it comes apart so I can put it in my truck. I also need to see if it goes okay with my pink shirt ;-)

A new sink

I actually went and bought this table today. My intention was to put a sink on top of it for my new house.

I didn't buy the sink top yet and I'm having second thoughts about cutting a hole in the top of the table. I think I may get a simpler vanity for it and just use the table in the living room.

I'm not usually someone who spends a lot on furnishings and I can't help but wonder if it's vanity to get something this fancy.

Twice in one week

I'm sure that this is a first for me. They sent us home early thursday because of the snow. Today the sun is out and the snow looks beautiful. You can still see my foot prints from where I walked in yesterday.

It's supposed to get really cold tonight, but for most of the day it should remain above freezing.

What a mess

When my new house was vacant. Someone put a bunch of mess in my recycle can and the wind blew the top open. It was a lot of paint cans and various stuff like that. When the snow and rain came it half filled up the can with water. Now the paint is mixed with the water so I don't want to pour it out because of the chemicals.

I've got to go over today and be sure that it's moved so that it doesn't completely fill up.

Another Bad Dream

I dreamed that there was a door (not attached to a house) and it was on fire behind the house. Not a big fire, just a smoldering one, like an old log on a fire that's gone mostly out. The dream was longer and much worse than just that part. At least it wasn't snowing ;-)

I need to move to South Texas

I do not like what is happening here. I grew up about 50 miles south of where I live now and it almost never did this.

I did get everything finalized on my house Monday and now it's mine all mine. I'm glad I don't have to move while it's snowing.

It should melt today.

I got a new refrigerator

I got my new refrigerator delivered Saturday. It wasn't really pink ;-)

The latest on the house is that it should be really mine Monday. The seller didn't sign the paper early enough Friday for the lender to get the money for them.

Church was really good today. (as usual)

February in Review

Looking back over February to see what happened.

I had over one thousand visits to my blog in February. I realize that I am my most active visitor and Janet is probably second, but even so I am very humbled that a lot of people see my blog. When I started this blog I really was only doing it for myself and didn't know how addictive blogs can be ;-)

Week 1 - Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Lent and house purchase negotiations
Week 2 - A mouse in my desk, Valentines Day and house negotiations
Week 3 - I won a teaching series from June Hunt and house negotiations
Week 4 - Bowling with Blonds, deleted downloads and trying to close on the house
