My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Exercise for the back

I found a link to an exercise for your back that I'm going to try to start doing.

My back is getting better

I got some of that stuff that you put on your back and it gets hot. I also got some natural pills that are supposed to help. They have grape seed extract and some other stuff in them. I may not have mentioned on here about my back, but since I've been working on the old house, painting and moving things around it's been bothering me.

Girls Night Out

We had a bachelorette party for one of my friends last night. I didn't get home till really late and I ended up having to bring home someone's car, because I drove them home.

I don't really drink, but I did have for the first time a Blue Hawaii and someone bought a fuzzy navel for us. I was able to drink them, which must mean that they do not have a lot of alcohol in them because I can't stand the taste of most drinks.

We went to a dueling piano bar and it was a lot of fun, but not some place that I would want to go to very often. VERY LOUD and kinda rough language.

Yeah for Classic Taupe

The room that I have called "The Mustard Room" for years because of the color that the previous owner painted it is gone. One of my blond friends came over and helped me transform it into a classic taupe room. It looks so much better, I'm not sure why I didn't paint it before.

We still haven't peeled all the old paint off in "The Blue Room" but I know it's going to look so much better too.

New Hair Color

I got a new hair color to try, it's brown with streaks of carmel in it. I'm not sure I will get time, but I'd like to put it in today. I have a wedding shower to go to tomorrow and I'd like to look good. I think it's going to be kind of fancy. Oh wait I also need to pick up a gift.

Life is very busy sometimes and I seem to be rolling along faster and faster when I'm really trying to slow down.

Painting This Week

My friends have talked me into painting the walls of my old house something like the color of a sack. The funny thing is that when I moved into the house the living room and kitchen were already this color. I didn't like it, but I never got around to painting it and then I got used to it.

I'm going to do the trim in white and it will really show up against the paper sack color. Actually the real color is classic taupe.

This is followed either by complete and pained silence or a comment such as "That's really a very pleasant little water color you have there. - I don't know who said this, but I believe it's true.

Rough Day

To start with I had to fast because I was going to the doctor for them to take my blood. Then on the way a car bumped into the back of my truck. I pulled to the side of the road, but they kept going. I'm actually glad they kept going, because I could hear them yelling and I guess they were angry at me, but the traffic in front of me had started to move and then slowed down.

I went on to the Dr's Office before I looked at the back of my Truck. Turns out that it's okay. Then I was having trouble staying awake all day at work because I didn't sleep well. I really don't like to have my blood taken.

Another flat tire ; - (

This weekend I went to get in the truck and the front tire was flat. I hadn't found time to get my spare fixed since the last flat and so I had no spare. At least I was home and not stranded out somewhere.

I was able to put air in the tire and I could hear it start to make noise on the way to the tire place. When I parked and got out it was completely flat again. I got four new tires $$$$ and so now I'm good to go.

You could fill a book with what I don't know

I took time today to look at the Daily Bible reading and in 2nd Kings 2 the river Jordan was parted twice. I think I never remembered that part because I was so caught up in trying to keep Elijah and Elisha's names straight and all the visual effects of the chariot of fire coming down to get Elijah.

Now I have to hurry to get ready for my friends who are going to come and help me paint. I could paint by myself, but I really need them for the motivation. It's amazing how much more you can get done when you know someone is coming. It's like parting my own river of procrastination and being able go on and get things done.

It's like finding a hidden room

I was working at my old house today and found out that the blue paint (which I have hated for years) will just peel off. The paint under it is really not bad. Sort of an off white and will not be hard to paint over.

Finding a hidden room would really be much nicer if you didn't have to lose a room to find it. So the blue room will soon be gone and will be replace another room with a respectable light neutral color of some kind.

Detox Foot Pads

I went to the drug store today to get my prescription and when I was there I saw these detox foot pads. You put these on at night and they are supposed to pull out toxins onto them by the morning. You do it like 5 nights in a row until your not pulling any toxins out. I just hope it doesn't pull my steroid nasal spray out through my feet ;-)

[Note added later: I can't prove or disprove, but I am being told by people that these pads are a scam]

Stormy Day

A big limb got blown off the tree in my front yard today. I didn't get home till late and I was really glad it didn't quite make it into the street. I pulled it back off the sidewalk because people were having to go around.

I didn't check the fence to see if it was okay, for some reason they do seem to blow over around here also. I don't ever remember it being so windy as it has been lately. We also had a lot of rain today, which was good for the lawn.

I went to the Doctor

I've been feeling like I had water in my ears and so I made an appointment and went in. I knew it had been a while since I had been to the Doctor and I don't know how many times they went over what medicine I was taking and I had to keep telling them. I am not taking anything.....I know that I am supposed to be, but I"m not.

Now I have an appointment to come in Monday for a blood test and the Thursday after that for a "Well Woman" exam. I guess it would be worse to have a "Sick Woman" exam ;-)

I will probably sell

I had planned to rent my old house and become an evil landlord, but now I'm looking at selling. I did borrow some money besides the mortgage when I bought that house and when I bought this one, so... If I can recoop that, then things will probably be better for me.

I may buy a little place down near my Parents home so I can have a studio. It has a little one room building with a bath and kitchen. I guess I should add that it doesn't have anything else on the property. It's not a house with a studio, it's a studio with no house ;-). Lets pray that the house sells. With the economy what it is, it's hard to tell what will happen these days.

House Numbers

I got a note from the city that I need to put more visible house numbers on my house. I got some, but my screwdriver doesn't fit the skews on them. That being said I just now thought that I could use other screws on them.

I meant to get the numbers up today, but actually was too tired and just came home and slept, so I'll put them up tomorrow.

Talking on Skype

Since I have no phone my friend had me download Skype so we could talk. I've never used it before. It really feels like something from the old Jetson cartoon. I didn't have a webcam set up, but I could see him on the screen while we talked :-)

My Cell Phone left town

My parents were up over the weekend and I left my cell phone in the car. I tried to call right after they left, before they got very far, but my Dad said he heard it, but thought it was an ice cream truck.

I know he felt bad and he offered to bring it right back, but I'm going to do without it till weekend. It's father's day this weekend anyway and so I will want to see him.

So now I have no spare tire and no cell phone, so I'm going to stick pretty close to home. Funny how we didn't used to have cell phones and we felt safe, but now it seems scary to be off without one.

Roll on little Moggy <- Not

I had a flat tire on my truck. The good thing was that I was at home, but the bad thing was that the tire had a little crack in it and when I tried to put air in it, the air just came out again.

I think I could have put on the spare, but I couldn't figure out how to get get it out from under the truck.

And if you will notice my driveway is slanted.

Recreating the Past

My cousins and I decided to try to recreate our old picture. We were all at the reunion and so one of them brought a white shirt and a striped shirt. I had on a red shirt (sorry if this is a shock I don't really always wear hot pink) and so I gave my shirt to the one in the front and wore a striped shirt.

Even though three of us were about the same in the old picture we didn't end up the same height as grown ups and the little one in the front grew up.

Family Reunion

Yes this is really me with my cousins some years back. I am the one in the center who looks a lot like a future "cat woman".

I'm up early to get a few last minute things done and then I'm headed for the reunion.

It's getting to be too much

I have someone to mow the lawn at my new house, but..... the old house has really tall grass in the back yard. I got a notice from the city and so I have 10 days to get it mowed and keep it mowed.

I've got to really get busy and get the house sold or rented so that I don't have to keep up with two yards. I'm not sure who is responsible for it if it's rented.

I need more structure in my life

I'm much better at making plans than I am at following them, so I'm not trying to make any really complicated plans. I just need a little structure.

I have not been eating right or taking vitamins and so that's part of the plan. It would be nice if I had a few areas of my life undercontrol then I wouldn't have to work on all areas at once. ;-(
