My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Letting someone else mow

I sent an email to a yard service and they went out to my house and mowed. I was so nervous all day at work thinking what if they were at the wrong house. It's weird to have someone working at your house when you never even saw them.

I was very happy when I got home and the lawn was all neatly mowed.

I'm sure that my neighbors are happy too. I may mow the other yard, or call them to.

New Washer & Dryer

My friend helped me to get a washer and dryer and set them up in my new house. He is very strong ;-) Now I really have everything I need in my new house, but I have a few more things to move frome the old house and some cleaning to do. I'm going to really try hard to get all the moving done this week.

I have some friends who may help me this weekend to finish up. Oh and I have to mow AGAIN ;-)

Things are not always how they look

My friend tried to pop my neck in the parking lot, but putting his hands around my neck and pulling up. My neck didn't pop, but a little group of people did walk by and so we got in the truck and left.

We were afraid they would think he was trying to choke me, because you know how people are now days.

So if you read somewhere that someone tried to choke Moggy in the parking lot over the weekend, it's not true.

Bowling Again

We only had about 12 people show up this time, there must have been something else going on for some of them. I invited a couple of friends who don't usually go, or it would have been even less. We had a lot of fun as usual and I did bowl over 100 which is alway my goal now that I have at least gotten up to that.

You can probably tell that I'm tired, this is not very funny ;-)

It rained really hard yesterday

It was pouring down. I'm lucky I don't live in a low spot.I don't have to worry about flooding. I do worry about getting my yard mowed as often as it needs to be.

The flowers are really growing, when I catch up on other things I will try to get some pictures. I have wild pink flowers in the back yard and a lot of various ones in the front flowerbed.

Quote: May he come down like rain upon the mown grass, Like showers that water the earth. Psalm 72:6 <- They had to mow grass even way back then? ;-)

Retro TV

One great thing about cable is all the old TV shows. The Nanny, Frazer, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Golden Girls and the list goes on. The bad thing is they are so tempting. I have been bad at getting caught up in it.

I'm going to have a good talk with myself and set some limits.

Not just TV - (Cable TV)

As many of you know I didn't have a TV for years (by choice)

At my new house I signed up for cable and the Internet together. The boy had a TV in his room he wasn't using and so we set it up in the living room. That was okay for a while because most of the channels were not set up and I didn't have the remote.

Now The Boy has fixed the remote and I'm not sure if I'm ready for this new found entertainment choice.

Will I be able to handle the added drain on my time and my eyes. Stay Tuned to find out.

Oklahoma City

I spent half of Friday night lost in Oklahoma City with one of my blond friends driving. We did a lot of back tracking and finally got to the hotel after midnight. What happened to us was that the hotel we stayed at was in a small town near Oklahoma City, but it had the same street address as one in Oklahoma City. We had a mapquest map that was not only to the wrong place, but also very hard to follow.

I didn't realized that today was the 13th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, but at the conference we went to they had a time of silence to remember.

I ended up getting home after 10:00 today, but it was a good trip. We had fun and learned a lot.

Court Proceedings in Texas

I've been following the court proceedings on the children taken by the state of Texas. How sad the entire thing is. I can't help but wonder what kind of Heaven some people are working to get into.

My understanding is that God gave us free will and he did that so that we could love him freely. How could you take that freedom away from another person, especially a child.

If there is anything positive out of this, I don't feel so bad about being single. I would rather be single for the rest of my life than to be some of those ladies sister wife. My prayer for these children, women, men and the state of Texas is that something good will come out of this.

I no longer want to be invisible

Now I"m working on being more transparent ;-) So this is a picture of me out smelling the roses. These roses actually do exist, they grow way up in a tree at my Parents house.

By transparent, I mean that I don't want to live a life that has to be hidden from other people. I want to be honest and bold and free to be me. Yes that is why I have chosen to be a cartoon ;-)

A full House

I think the new house is about full and now I need to start working on where to put everything. Sometimes it's really too much and I'd like to just dig a hole and dump everything in and start over.

I would of course keep out a few clothes to wear ;-)

Looking Good

I curled my hair last night, so I should be looking good today for meetings and for Church tonight. Everyone makes a big deal out of it when I fix my hair or wear makeup.

I have for some reason always felt like I was invisible and so it's a little embarrassing to find out that people were really looking at me all that time.

I got my taxes done

I know there are not due till Tuesday, but I'm trying to turn over a new leaf and get things done before I absolutely have to.

I didn't get as much other stuff done as I had planned.

I may not finish moving this month, but I'm going to get all I can done. I'm not sure why I sort of moved a few things and then took a break. Maybe I just needed to be by myself for a while.

Dates on Food

Today I went through a lot of my can goods and things in my cabinet at the old house. I don't want to move anything that is out of date to the new house.

"Sell by" - how long the store can display a product for sale

"best before" or "best if used by" - quality or flavor

"Use by" don't use after this date

Saturday again so soon

I have a lot to do this weekend, it's my last full weekend before my friend comes to help me with some stuff. I just hope that I get most of the stuff done from my list.

Red Flowers

The first flowers to come up at my new house looked like this. I'm not sure what they are, but I can't wait to see if they keep on blooming.

I know you think my favorite color is bright pink, but it's not. My favorite color is red. However the second flowers to come out were pink.

Today was so beautiful that you could hardly believe that there was a storm last night. There were a lot of tree limbs on the ground, but that's about all I saw myself. On the local news it did show a lot of other damage.

More Storms

The news is talking baseball size hail and tornadoes with this storm. I don't think it will be quite close enough to cause damage where I am, but it's not too far away. I do feel bad for the people who may be in the path.

Correction - I heard later golf and tennis ball size.

Hail in some areas

I heard on the news this morning that there was hail in a lot of areas around me. I didn't wake up if we had hail here.

I guess that you would need a metal umbrella for hail. We can have some pretty large hail stones around here every now and then. I've seen them and heard them, but still it seems like some weird thing that shouldn't happen.

My Large Angry Cat

A neighbor cat came and looked in the window when I was trying to sleep and The Cat went crazy. I really liked having the low windows so he could enjoy looking out, but noooo.

I got some of my larger paintings and put them in front of the windows and that seemed to calm him down.

I just hope that my human neighbors don't get scared with my paintings peeking out under the mini blinds. One is a pirate lady ;-)

Ahh the smell of burnt plastic

I was using the weedeater and started to smell something. I turned it off and pulled the electric cord off and the cord was melting onto the prongs of the weedeater plug. I'm so glad it didn't catch fire.

I had to scape the melted plastic off the weedeater plug so I wouldn't have to smell burnt plastic when I put the right extension cord on it. Now I get work on the other yard.

It's bluebonnet season in Texas

The bluebonnets are beautiful and I love the way they smell. When all the wild flowers come out each springs it's just wonderful. Today I'm going to try to remember to really look and enjoy God's creation around me.

I'm going to take back my cell phone and get a different plan. They told me I had 15 days to change my mind. I see that my plan doesn't have roaming and I do quite a bit of roaming ;-)

Saturday to-do list

I'm trying to get a lot of things done today that I have been putting off. Like mowing the yard (and now that I have two yards that's even worse). I need to set up my closet and kitchen.

I also need to get busy cleaning and painting at the old house so I can either rent it out or sell it. I still have things to move over, but I'm trying to sort through them and toss out stuff at the same time. I hope to check a good many things off my list.

My new cell phone

Today I was very careful to remember to take my recharger with me to recharge the phone and the headset to plug into it. Just one thing.

I forgot the phone.

I tried calling it to see if it was on my desk somewhere and then when I got home I saw I had a missed call (duh) it took me a while to figure out that the phone number was me calling from work.

I am back on the internet ;-)

Now hopefully I can start updating my blog again. I also have a TV set up and cable hooked to it. I'm hoping to only keep the cable for about 3 months otherwise, I'm afraid I will never dot all the things I need to do.
