My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Not long before my trip

I have been at the stage where I want to roll up in a little ball on the floor and just stay there, but now I'm getting past that. I was going to just take carry on luggage, but since I will be there for a week, now I think I will check in something...but what to carry?

I've got to find out what the rules are, can I take makeup? toothpaste? It's been a little over a year since I flew.

Moggy's Evil Twin Moogy Day 3

I worked late then tried to find a hat at the store before going to Church.

I'm just beginning to get past the stage where I want to stay rolled up in a little ball and pretend that I am not flying out Sunday for California. It's just part of how
I feel about going away from Texas ;-(

Nice relaxing Monday

This weekend a friend of mine gave me a book "Boo" by Rene Gutteridge and I didn't know when I was going to find time to read it.

One funny thing that happened was that I had my pictures developed from camping and they made half of them backwards.

Al has created an evil twin

I just came back from camping and you have been talking among yourselves and Al comes up with an evil twin to lock me in a dark closet and take over my life.

I wouldn't have named her Moogy, I would have named her Muggy, but I think that Moogy is funnier.

Gone Camping

No posting for a few days. You will have to talk amongst yourselves again. I will give you a subject.

Why do you put your 2 cents in, if it's only a penny for your thoughts?

Self Feeding Cat

I went straight from work to Church and when I got home I assumed that either The Girl or The Boy had fed The Cat. He was trying to get me to feed him, but that's normal.

After I didn't feed him, he went over to the shelf and knocked his food down and fed himself. He is so smart.

It turned cold today

I have a really cold window that I sit by at home and so I thought I would get a blanket and put over it and see how that worked for this winter. I found a blanket with a nice outdoor picture of deer that reminds me of going camping.

Until I took it out of the package It never occurred to me it might be turned the wrong direction. I think I will have to use it for a blanket and find something else to go over the window.

I'm still working on it

I took my truck to get it inspected. They said it might take two hours and so I walked to a little shopping center near by.

I found a little Beauty Shop, got my hair cut (which I have been doing myself) and my eyebrows shaped up (which doesn't happen much). Then I walked over to the Beauty supply store and let the girl talk me into some reddish color hair dye.

I came home and dyed my hair and now some of my hair really is orange ;-)

Don't Give In except to God

I'm such a people pleaser, but I guess I would rather be known as such a God pleaser. I'm going to have to work on that. This verse from the daily Bible reading just sort of jumped out at me.

I know it's true that I can't be the best that I can be when I'm giving in to what other people want. When what they want goes against what God wants.

Quote: “I can't control my destiny, I trust my soul, my only goal is just to be. There's only now, there's only here. Give in to love or live in fear. No other path, no other way. No day but today.” - Johnathan Larson

Play Dough

I met some friends today and then later we decided to go to a restaurant. I had never been there before, but it was very nice.

One friend ran home and got her kids and so we were already seated when she got there. She stopped at the front and they had something for kids and each one came in with a piece of dough.

I said how much fun it looked like and so one of them ran back and got one for me.

It's been a while since I played with a chunk of dough and it was fun. The food was good too, but I ate too much and we all know that I need to watch that.

Party Planning

We planned our October Celebration. I was giving ideas and no one liked them. I was hurt so I stayed quiet for a while (really) but at the end. I did go ahead and put in one more idea.

They all really liked my last idea, so at least I was able to come away from the meeting feeling like I had put in something.

Halloween Costumes

Time to be thinking what you will wear for Halloween. I don't dress up, but I think about it.

I saw that you can get a costume for your cell phone, so I was thinking it would be funny to dress up like "Chef Ramsey" and ask to see people's kitchen.

If I ever get famous I will make a Moggy Costume.

I may make myself one anyway. I have been looking at the halloween stuff to see if I can find an orange wig. So far they all have bangs and Moggy doesn't wear bangs.

Molly Make Believe

Since I have been able to pull away from the TV I have been listening to stories on line. I really like the ones from Eleanor Hallowell Abbott, especially "Molly Make Believe".
It's about a guy who is sick and engaged to a lady who doesn't seem to be very interested in him, even though she is planning to marry him.

When she leaves on a trip and puts a little advertisement in the envelope with her first letter it changes everything.

It's a Miracle

I have really enjoyed watching Desperate Housewives, even though I know it's probably not good for me.

This time as usual I could not wait to see what was happening on Wisteria Lane and then not long after I started to watch it......

I just turned it off.

Slumber Party

We had a slumber party Friday night and it started kind of late. It was already dark Friday when I was packing to go.

I had grabbed my bedding and tossed it into the back of my truck, but never got it out because the friend I stayed with had plenty of bedding for everyone.

When I got home Saturday morning my pillow was up by my front door. I don't know if one of my neighbors saw it in the yard and put it there, or if it fell there when I was carrying stuff out.

One more thing that happened was my house key fell off my key chain into my overnight bag. When I got home and got to the front door I didn't have a key.

I thought I was never going to get in the house, but I finally found the key. I wonder if my neighbors are amused by, or scared of me?

What just happened

I got an email that someone I had been communicating with, wanted to reopen the match. It wasn't someone that I had been communicating with and... eharmony somehow sent them my email address by mistake.

I get an email from this guy that thinks they made a mistake and accidentally sent him my email address. He would like to reopen the communication. He included some of the back and forth communication. I wrote him "they did make a mistake I am not the person you were talking to.

So I get an email back from him saying that he understands that I don't want to communicate with him. So I write him again and say "I am not the person you were communicanting with."

I send an email to eharmony asking them to double check to see if they have the right person (I know they don't). Because I'm hoping they will send the email to the correct person he wants to connect to. Then I get another email from eharmony telling me again this guy wants to reopen the match. So I say okay, but I tell them to check because I'm not the right person.

They did reopen the account and he immediately put me "on hold" and so I closed the match.

So I sent eharmony another email that said "Never mind, you reopened it, he put me on hold and I closed it." hopefully this will keep them from reopening it again ;-/

No backing out now

I got my hotel reservations and my airplane tickets today ;-)

I really really didn't want to go, but now that I know I can't get out of it, I'm a little excited about it.

A walk in the park

Today at lunch my friend and I went away from work and for a short walk in the park. We didn't take a very long walk, because of time and because she was wearing heels, but it was really refreshing just to get out in nature.

I do need to thank God more for his creation. Just to be allowed to be here to enjoy it is amazing and I know that what he has for us to see in heaven will be even more amazing.

Poem by e. e. cummings

i thank You God for most this amazing day:
for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday;this is the birth
day of life and love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginably You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

Tuesday

I didn't want to go to Church today because I was wanting to take a break. I had made a one year commitment to go on Tuesdays.

The year is up and so I was thinking that I wanted to just take a break for a while. I didn't go for a couple of Tuesdays, but then today I got calls from a couple of the ladies asking me if I was going to come and I reluctantly said I would go.

I think you can tell by my before and after photo that it was good for me to go.

Something I read about Soft Drinks

I found this online. The risk of becoming overweight for those who drink regular soft drinks:

26% for up to 1/2 can per day

32.8% for 1 to 2 cans per day

47.2% for over 2 cans per day.

The risk of becoming overweight for those who drink diet soft drinks:

36.5% for up to 1/2 can per day

54.5% for 1 to 2 cans per day

57.1% for over 2 cans per day.

I've started drinking green tea and I thought I would hate it, but I like the citrus flavored one.

One more link about soda and heart disease I'm not saying that all this is true, it's just some stuff that I found and I'm trying to figure out how to stay healthy and lose a few pounds.

Eggbeaters

In my quest to eat less calories, I got a carton of eggbeaters. My friend who is also trying this sent me an email telling me that she didn't like them when she tried it.

I'm still going to try, because that is a lot less calories and a lot less cholesterol. I'll let you know how it comes out. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if it's inside of other recipes and not the main ingredient.

Today the cat weighs 29.4 pounds, I'm thinking with all the coming and going he may have tricked two people into feeing him twice, thinking the other one didn't feed him.

Chicken Pot Pie

I wish I could give you the recipe for this one. I don't know where it is at the moment. I had some cooked chicken and vegetables, so I thought I would try.

I made it in a muffin tin. so I pressed a biscuit into each tin and then filled it with my (cooked diced chicken, cream of chicken soup with broccoli, and some mixed soup vegetables <- all of which I stirred together before putting them in. Then I topped it with another biscuit.

I put the oven at 400 and it cooked the tops before the inside.I ate the tops and put it back in at a lower temperature and it turned out really good.

Should I tell matches about my blog?

I had a great date with the last guy that I met on eharmony, but I told him about my blog and after he looked at it, well he said he liked it but ..... I haven't heard from him since then.

Today I have a new person who is writing me on eharmony and now I'm thinking should I just wait and not tell him about my blog. There is always the chance that he wouldn't bolt and run, but why take the chance.

Last night I had one of those very real dreams, and in it I met someone and there was a potential match there. That's one reason that I'm kind of excited that this one might really be "The One" ;-)

Old Outer Space Movie

I'm watching an old movie that has some pretty funny looking outer space people.

Link removd < it was no longer valid

I haven't watched the entire movie, but the first part is what is really funny. Just the costumes of the space men.

Graham Crackers Anonymous here I come. Actually I have not had the best luck with my Ice Cream Sandwich idea from yesterday.

It's amazing how hard it is for me to stay away from the Graham Crackers. At just 60 calories a cracker it still adds up when you eat 5 or 6 of them ;-(

Low Cal Fake Ice cream Sandwich

For a low calorie substitute when you want ice cream try this.

I bought a box of Low Fat Honey Grams (60 calories for each gram cracker) and a container of sugar free cool whip (25 cal for 2 tablespoons).

Break one cracker in half and put two tablespoons of cool whip on it. Put the other half on top and put it in the freezer - So that's an 85 calories snack when you feel like you have to have something sweet.

I know that you can buy a box of low fat ice cream bars, but between you and me I can't eat just one if I do that.

History Lesson: The "graham cracker" is named after Reverend Sylvester Graham (1794-1851) He used a coarsely ground wheat flour which came to be named after him.

I can't believe I like this stuff

My friend brought spinach to work last week and I'm not that big on eating spinach. I tasted of it only because it was so nice of her to share (she is the same one that I spilled the soup all over her office) I actually liked it. I made some at home from her directions.

Recipe
1 10 oz can spinach
1 tablespoon of butter
salt & pepper
2 eggs

You squeeze out as much of the moisture from the spinach as you can and then heat the butter in a pan and cook the spinach, add two eggs into that and stir them around in it. Salt and Pepper to taste. When I had mine cooked I spread it out on a cookie sheet and sprinkled just a little shredded cheddar cheese on it and put it under the broiler for just a bit. It's also good reheated in the microwave.
