My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

Happy Thanksgiving

This thanksgiving I'm thankful for:

* God still working in my life
* my job
* The Leaning House of Moggy
* food to eat
* friends
* family
* hair (even if it's orange)
* health
* The Cat

Weird Dreams

I got to sleep late and so I had some weird dreams. First I dreamed about a boy and girl going to a town that was in a different world. Not really obviously different than ours at first. Later (not sure if it was the same dream or another one) there were creatures that were attracted to light if it was dark. Also some people had the ability to hide in trees and blend in and be very still. This was not the bad guys.

I also dreamed about elevators and a work place and a coke machine, someone from my Church finding an armadillo under a shelf where they worked and I was trying to take it to the country where it would be safer and a big pet wild cat that some guy had. Lots of long dreams, I guess I should have set an alarm.

Accidental Orange

I got tired of the black hair with gray roots and so decided to bleach my hair so I could get a lighter color.

Now my hair is orange (okay maybe auburn).

It wouldn't be too bad, except it didn't fix the roots problem. I have a plan for that, I just hope it works better than this plan ;-) .

I can't say I got the look I was trying for, but I didn't really have that planned out very well.

Now for the other side

The stuff I put on my shoulder worked and this morning it doesn't hurt, but the other side does. I did try sleeping on the other side. I also thought that it may be that because I've been dieting that I'm not getting enough vitamins, so I too one this morning.

We will see how I feel tomorrow ;-) Today I'm going to try to do something with my hair. If you remember not long ago I accidentally dyed it black. Now it's black with gray or as I like to call it "platinum blond" roots.

I'm not yet sure what I'm going to do about it, but I'll let you know.

Ouch

My shoulder hurts. I don't know if it's because of the weather getting cold, or from my purse hanging on that arm. It could be from using the computer mouse too much. Or from reaching up on the high shelves in my garage moving stuff around.

I need to find some deepheat, bengay or liniment to put on it.

Not Again ;-O

I was pretty good today, but then just as I was about to leave work I got the phone call. "I'm at Blue Mesa can you come over and eat with me" So off I went, I think I may have to lose a few friends before I can lose a few pounds ;-)

It was nice there. I really like the sweet potatoe chips. I like them a little too much.

I really want to try sculpting

A friend took me out to eat after work and we went to this place in the picture. In the middle they have a high ceiling that is painted like the sky and a statue. We didn't sit next to the statue, but we were sitting close enough to feel like you we were outdoors.

It was pretty cold here today and you would not have really wanted to be outdoors. I ate more than I should have. The food was really very good.

I want to play in the mud

I got to see someone making a sculpture yesterday and it made me want to try it. I guess it's not really mud, but looks a lot like it.

We had a speaker who worked on a bust of Jesus as he spoke. He works with Hospice and helps families who are morning. He was giving us advice on how to listen to someone who is at the end of their life. He talked about how important last words were and that they were like a gift. When people die suddenly without being able to say their last words sometimes the family feels cheated of that gift. Pretty serious stuff for a cartoon blog.

Chipotle Mexican Grill

I picked up "The Boy" at the airport late in the day and we went by Chipotle to get something since he was hungry and had missed being able to go there while he was in another state.

I usually avoid Chipotle because everytime I've been there, I have never liked what I ended up with. He told me I could get a casadia, which I didn't know, because it's not on the menu. It was still pretty spicy, but really good. I think everyone but me loves to go there, so next time someone wants to go I will not have to avoid the place.

Full Moon

Today has been a beautiful day. When I walked out this morning I noticed the sun shinning down on the morning dew.

I also noticed the smell of the cool crisp morning. It was beautiful all the way to work and then tonight, the moon is wonderful.

I'm not sure why I'm in such a good mood today, but maybe it's because I'm trying to start the day by talking to God.

I'm asking for his help and direction for the day.

Not a great diet day

I had chicken fried steak for lunch. I did split it with a friend, so it was not as bad as it could have been. However we also had some mashed potatoes and gravy with it.

I will try to do better tomorrow. It shouldn't set me back too far on my diet.

It's a good thing I like rain

It's really pouring down today and it started this early the night before. The thunder was so loud then I was afraid it would set off the car alarm.

I have always loved to hear the thunder and rain. The Cat even likes to look out the window at it.

Weigh in today

Today we will be weighed and that will be compared to last week. If anyone has gained a pound, then they will have to pay $1 a pound. I don't know if they will tell us if anyone gained or lost, but at least we will know for ourselves. I think I have lost a few pounds, but I will find out when I get to the official scale.

In the past I would probably have skipped breakfast, but that's not the way I'm trying to lose this time. I'm trying to do something that I can continue on with, just a change in lifestyle...not really a diet.

Yeah it's friday

I plan to go out tonight for some belated birthday fun.

I hope that does not mean I am straying from home ;-/ It will be at my Church home, so maybe that will count as being home.

Wednesday Words

Daily Bible Reading
Ezekiel 14:12-16:41
Hebrews 7:18-28
Psalm 106:1-12
Proverbs 27:4-6
I haven't been reading the bible like I should, but I did listen online to todays one year bible reading. I really love listening to it at http://www.bibleonradio.com/ because Tom Dooley has a great voice. I usually have to listen a couple of time, because I get distracted.

We have a new President

We need to pray for him as he takes this office. I pray that he will make wise decisions for our country.

I felt sick all day and was snappy at people because of the elections. Now it looks like the House and Senate are also a majority of the same party as the President, so it should be interesting what things get passed in the next four years.

Election Day

I pray that God will have mercy on our Country. I know there are many great Christians here, but there is also many who have no regard for God and any of the things he has given them or done in their life.

I do pray that God's will be done and I don't pretend to know what his decision will be. I know that in my own life I need to turn to God for direction regardless of the outcome of this election.

Sunday Musings

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "

This is a very comforting scripture to me, especially with the election just a couple of days away.

I sometimes feel like rolling up like a pill bug in the corner until the election is over. I also hate to see the map they put on CNN. It just shows how divided up people are.

Moggy as Madonna for Halloween

Here is a picture of me in my Madonna costume. I'm the one in the middle with the blond curls. I want you to know that it's my own leg that I have my gloved hand on.

I think I was pulling the Madonna look off pretty well until I got around the chocolate fountain. In some of the later pictures in addition to the beauty mark above my lip I had a little chocolate on my face ;-/

It was a fun party and my group won the Madonna trivia game. I can't say that I was much help on that, but it's nice to win.
