My Life is a Cartoon

Maybe my life is not a cartoon, but I do like to draw little cartoons about some of the things going on in my life.

I'm still coughing

My boss sent me home at 2:00 yesterday.

I called the doctor and asked if she had anything to help me stop coughing. She sent me for a chest x-ray and gave me some new antibiotics and some cough medicine.

Well Janet

Thanks for the advise.

I'm still coughing,

and I'm starting to think

I have been tricked ;-(

but...

I am getting some people to stop.

I REALLY hate cough syrup

When I was little my Mom would hold out the spoon and turn her head and say "now don't you take this while I'm not looking" strangely that seemed to work on me. My Mom says that her Mom did the same thing, but she would actually take the spoon and toss out the medicine.

The good thing is that now we have it in pill form. Which if I get out early enough this morning I"m going to run and get and see if they will let me stay at work today.

Well the three day weekend is over

I'm feeling much better, but my boss let me go home because I still can't stop coughing.
I have a lap top, so I can still connect into the the system at work.

It's been a long day

I got a nail taken out of my tire and the oil changed and some belt replaced. I'm still coughing and tired. I think the worst thing is I spent a lot of the day communicating with a guy on eharmony. ..... Then I sent him the link to my blog and now he doesn't want anything else to do with me. This is not the first time it's happened.
I don't expect everyone to understand my sense of humor or why I would draw cartoons everyday, but still it hurts. ;-(

Resting in the Country

One night
The Cat was looking intently out the window.

I moved so I could see what he saw. A dark shadow about the size of a cat was moving in a tree just out the widow from where we were sleeping. When I could see the silhouette of the head I knew it was a possum.

There is a light outside and so you can see the entire yard and it was raining and dark except for that. The rain drops that were sticking on the tree were shining like stars where the light hit them. I find the country relaxing except when I'm alone thinking about bigfoot ;-)

The Cat rode very well

He usually does. Oh and I just noticed that I don't have my seatbelt on. I did have it on when I was driving.

I'm feeling better all the time.

Superheros in a bottle

I have been derailed from weight loss, by this walking pneumonia thing. The doctor gave me these big yellow pills to take once a day and now I'm in a lot less pain (chest pain). That pneumonia bug was pretty rough and it really hurt when I coughed and I couldn't stop coughing.

I'm taking a weekend break from my blog and going to the country to heal. I should be back and better by Monday ;-)

Waiting for the Doctor to call

I've been waking up about every three hours to get a drink, but that's about it. Now I'm waiting for the doctor to call if she can work me into her schedule.

I'm actually feeling a little better, before I didn't at all feel well enough to get out and go to the doctor. I can't stay up though, so I'm going to have to rest and get back when the phone rings.

Still Sick

Quote: “It is dainty to be sick, if you have leisure and convenience for it” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

And here I was thinking it was inconvenient. I'm lucky that I had some water here because I haven't been able to do anything, but sleep, cough and drink water.

That whiskey is starting to look good, but I don't really think it would help ;-)

Okay brown is off the diet now

I put The Cat on the scale this morning and now he is just over 30lbs. He was 29lbs when I took him to the vet and got the special diet cat food. I though I was measuring it correctly, but I must be giving him too much.

I may have to get a tread mill and see if I can lure him to walk on it. He is still cute, but I don't think this is good for him.

Color Diet Exercise Ball

Okay now I am working on a workout to go with my new color wheel diet ;-) I have removed white from the list, it's not really a color and with the powder donut issue, I think it's just best to have it gone. I may have to rethink Wednesday, because it's mid week and the one color not in an M&M package.

Really I'm going to try to go back to the health club at work and just eat sensibly.

Brown Friday

If your following along then you know that I came up with a fun color wheel diet plan. I got suggestions for "Brown" like whiskey and beans and maple syrup, but then I realized that with a little deep fryer I can have just about anything on Brown day ;-)

Today our work group is going to play miniature golf and so with that workout coming up, I will probably want to eat a lot so I will have lots of energy ;-)

Green eggs and Avocados

Okay I didn't change the cartoon for today and I didn't stick with one color of food, but I still thought that I would change the title of this post.

Most people who visit my blog here do not go to my biay blog and I don't blame you, but every now and then I think one of the cartoons is sort of funny and so I'm putting one here.

Back to the green, I think I will have some peas or green beans or something to finish off the day ;-)

Dieting Again ;-)

I've had it in my mind for a while that it might be fun to go on a diet by color (being an artist).

I was going to only eat green stuff one day (like split pea soup and peas and limes etc) and then orange stuff (like sweet potatoes and cheddar cheese) on the next and on and on.

I was thinking about that at breakfast time and so I had milk and a boiled egg and decided that I would begin with white.

That would have been fine, but later I noticed the powder donuts in the vending machine. Did you realize that they are white? All I can say is that things went down hill from there.

Tuesday

I was supposed to turn in some reports before I left friday, but my computer froze up so I went home. I was off Monday and today I tried to get the files back.

I think I got most of it, but I need to go on to other things and so I will try to turn it in tomorrow and move on. I am bad about trying to make things too complicated. I want to give the boss more than she is asking for and end up giving her less.

Today was a special day

I even got dressed up and wore makeup ;-) Actually yesterday I bought a new camera to take pictures and The Girl had some makeup that I liked, so I asked if I could try it on before I went to the store. I liked it so much that I decided to get some for myself.

I forgot that I had tried on the make up and when I got back from the store with my new makeup I went to the mirror to try it on. The Girl is more of an Ivory color than I am and so I had all these ivory places on my face where I had tried on her makeup. It was not a pretty site and now I'm wondering if the people at the store were extra nice to me because they thought I was some crazy old lady ;-)

It's Saturday ;-)

I need to mow. It's not as bad as last time. I saw about 6 little baby rabbits scooting out of my way here and there in the back yard last time. That was nice.

It was supposed to rain today, but it sure doesn't look like it's going to.

I just hope that I have enough energy to get at least half of what I want to get done today finished.

I have a meeting with my boss first thing this morning.

I really should be getting ready for that instead of blogging, but I got home late yesterday.

Oops I gotta get ready and head for the door, no more blogging for now ;-(

Plans

I have some things I want change about my house.

The wind blew off one of my fake shutters and I used a photo program to see what it would look like if I took the others off. It didn't look too bad that way.

Oh if only I could just nod my head and make all those changes happen.

American Gothic

I love the Gothic look, but I didn't even know that this painting called "American Gothic" had that element in it.

I heard about it on the radio. The painter saw the little cottage and it had a second store window in a Gothic style. He painted it and then he ask his doctor and his sister to pose for it. His sister was much younger and didn't want people to think they were a couple. So it seems like it was supposed to be a farmer and his daughter.

Small Town Play

One of the things I went to see this weekend was a small town play. They started about 60 years ago doing a play every year and making fun of the town's people.

There were long tables of red and white checkered table clothes and lot's of beer (I didn't drink any).

At one time they had Flamingo dancers. They said that they spared no expense and brought in the best act they could find in and 11 mile radius. It was for charity and they have the local people acting in it.

Texas Bluebonnets

I took a couple of days off work to go camping again. I wasn't sure if the rain would stop, but it seems to have for a day or two.

This is a beautiful time of the year in Texas. Bluebonnets are growing beside the roadways and lots of people stop and get pictures of themselves and their kids in it each year.

Gossip

I don't think I really have a problem with gossip myself, however I am a pretty good listener ;-(.

I know that's not a good thing either. I have seen people's face light up when they have some good gossip to share. And all too often I have been more than happy to listen.

The rain was coming down in sheets

It was sort of scary and the wind was blowing really hard. It blew over fairly quickly, but it made the town sirens go off a few times.

I think we may have been under a tornado warning for a while, but I had unplugged the computer and so I didn't know it.

It seems to have calmed down now.

Garden Party

My friend has been talking to me about a garden party. She would like to have a couple of people dressed like flowers, or vegetables walking around. It's a real garden.

I have been thinking of all kinds of ways to make a costume, if I actually do make one I will post a picture.
